post thumbnail improvements

The post thumbnail is very limited at the moment. It would be great to be able to choose the dimensions of it (1:1, 3:2 etc). Also it's not currently possible to assign a background image to a Divi machine loop layout - I used the custom CSS you provided for this in an article to turn the post thumbnail into the background, but it made the image float halfway outside the loop layout. Thanks
