Improve Thumbnail Module

The thumbnail module ihas very few customisation possibilities and as a result its very difficult to get satisfactory results with Divi Machine when trying to display any images in a loop layout. The images appear all different sizes if they havent been manually cropped to exactly the same dimensions. Also, it would be great to be able to select the dimension for the image - eg select square. Also to give the image a border, or change the border radius. The plugin Divi Image Box would be perfect to use with divi machine, but it doesn’t work sadly. Are these things possible? Thanks
