Custom Loop Layout in Post Slider Module

It would be nice to have greater customization over the Post Slider Module. Like, the ability to add custom fields, move elements around, top/middle/bottom justification of text elements, ability to add special text or icons, how next element appears, automatic timed movement to next item, etc. In my case, I wanted to create a Testimonial slider that had a quotation icon above, the quote in the middle, and a custom field at the bottom. The item would be justified to the top and be on a white background. I was unable to accomplish this with the module as is.
