Archive Loop Card Modal as well as new page

In an archive loop, there is an option to make the entire layout clickable to go to the “single” page of the associated post. I would like to have an option added that, instead of going to the single page, that a modal popup could be used. This would basically be like the entire layout acting like the “view post button” module, which has the option to display a modal popup.
